Resources & Information
The Adalyn Rose Foundation serves families grieving the loss of a baby at any point during pregnancy, infancy, or early childhood. The Adalyn Rose Foundation walks with families through every step of life after baby loss, from the first moments and all those that follow.
The Selah Carefarm is a very special place on 20 acres of beautiful farmland where bereaved family members can come to both give and receive connection, compassion, and understanding. All the animals on the carefarm have been rescued from abuse, neglect, torture, or homelessness. Grieving families know what it means to suffer, and so do these animals.
A medical device that no one ever wants to know about or have to use. This device, a cooling unit disguised as a bassinet, provides the parents time with their baby who has died. It was instrumental in our recovery to be able to spend time with Koen.
Dr. Kliman and his research team at Yale are doing incredible things to study and help prevent pregnancy loss and stillbirth. Their lab processes thousands of placental slides each year (mine included) and have made some incredible discoveries. Their analysis is covered by most insurances and the team is friendly and great to work with.
Our culture is afraid of death. We fail to adequately understand the grieving process and how to support the bereaved, especially when it relates to traumatic grief. Many resources just don’t cut it. These are our favorite no-bullshit books on the topic of death, how to support your loved ones, and memoirs from parents who have lost a child.
